As a child growing up in the 70's, I went to the movies a lot. Even before the first Star Wars (well, the 4th Star Wars, I mean, the first of the second...oh, whatever!) there was Grease, Jaws, and countless other movies that we saw time and time again.
Back then, the price of admission to a matinee was a buck, a sizeable portion of my weekly allowance. That didn't leave much in the condiment budget, so a favorite at the snack counter was this popular rice candy that came with a cool edible rice paper wrapping and a free toy - all for a nickel.

Waiting for the #3 this morning, I popped into one of the Asian markets in my neighborhood and instantly recognizing the familiar box, impulsively bought one.
The price? 75 cents. A 1400% mark-up.
Now THAT is inflation!
