. .
The trip to the aquarium was almost an after thought - we were down in
Monterey for a design convention, and had no plans to deviate from that
agenda, but the weekend was just SO beautiful, and the conference
grounds were amazingly like going camping, but in much nicer clothes.
Deer crossed the footrails between the rough-hewn cottage-like
buildings, and the sound of the ocean pounded in the distance. Being
surrounded by all that nature made it impossible to sit still for yet
another slideshow lecture, so we took off and headed to see the otters.
As much as I enjoyed the giant fish tanks, with their schools of shimmery silver sardines, expertly evading the leopard sharks and giant fish predators, I was absolutely captivated by the many giant jellyfish tanks - all living lava lamps that slowed my heartbeat, dialated my pupils, and took me to my calm, happy place.
I need to get one of these installed in my office.
